1. 限定用法與非限定用法
• He has two sons, who work in Taipei. (他有兩個兒子，目前在台北工作)
• 只有兩個兒子
• He has two sons who work in Taipei. (他有兩個在台北工作的兒子)
• 兒子不只兩個
2. 限定用法： 限定形容詞子句的用途是把不清楚的人或事，說明清楚
• The girl who is dressed in red in lovely.
• 穿紅色衣服的那個女孩很可愛
• People are fools. They do such things. --> People who do such things are fools.
• 做這種事情的人是傻瓜
3. 非限定用法：對先行詞進一步說明。通常是專有名詞或唯一的人或物。前後用逗點分開，不可用關係代名詞that
• My father, who works in Tainan, will come back soon.
• 我父親，目前在台南工作，不久就會回來
• I will lend you this book, which is interesting.
• 我要借給你這本書，因為它很有趣味
• Our school, which is located in the downtown area, offers some courses to the community.
• 我們學校，位於市中心，有提供一些課程給社區
